Ben Thahn market

We were very excited to visit Ben Thahn market which just located about 800 meters from Rex hotel. Well, that was one of the purposed I selected Rex hotel as it is just a walking distance to everywhere. Near to 1km, we have reached the market. It looks like all ordinary market where it sells dry items up to wet(meat, fish and fruits).

But our main intention was to look for stuff that is cheap such as shirts and souvenirs. But we caught to our surprise, those items are quite expensive which if to compare, I can get the same product in Malaysia at the same price. The cloths and shirts are the same quality which I can get it from our local pasar malam (night market/ weekend market) in Malaysia. Please don't get me wrong, everyone says you need to bargain at least 50% from the price their starting price. Well maybe they discover that everyone have known about the 50% thingy, so instead, they hike the price 50% more so that they don't get any loses from selling their product. Hhhmm.. maybe it is true on my assumption. But it was a good fun to bargain and to get the price we wanted.

Verdict:
If you come from south east asia region, this is nothing. You can get the same quality product at your own backyard. If you a western/european, it will be fun to experience the art of bargaining. So nothing to buy and shop. Phheeww.. save me quite a lot of money there.
