Ho Chi Minh City in a nut shell.

We have been here for 4 days and 3 nights, time really go on fast, but frankly we are more excited to go back home, we missed our kids. What I have discovered for the past 4 days experiences are as follows,,,

Language:
Surprisingly, with their history of American troops, they could not speak english!! I was having huge problem when taking a taxi, as most of them can't speak english. I mean really.. they can't speak a word!! Luckly, the hotel personnel and the tour agency they can converse in english, not fluent but surviving.

Food:
It is quite easy to get muslim food although it is limited in HCMC. Prices are okay. For your info, there is another restaurant across Halal@Saigon called Nyonya restaurant, but the price is a bit steep compare to other we tasted. How do we know the steep price? Well, we went in to order for our lunch, but after reading the menu and the price list we decided it was not worth the money. The price almost double then what we can have at Halal@Saigon. Maybe the portion is bigger.. but we didn't dare to try. There are another three Halal restaurant food which we did not manage to try due to time constrain. Ali Baba which located just a block behind Dong Du street, Kedai Shamsudin and Four Season. You can check out the address in the web.

Shopping:
Nothing to shout about. It was a big dissapointment. The same quality and price which you can get at your neighbour store.(pasar malam). Even tailored made suit is consider expensive for me, as I can get better price in Thailand especially Phuket.

Excursion:
This is the only thing you can look forward in HCMC. But remember to bring lots of small notes for tips. Water puppet is something different which you must not miss.

Security:
It is a safe place to walk but just becarefull of your pocket at certain areas. Crossing the street is a new experience. They are very concern driver/rider. When you cross the road they will try to avoid from crashing towards you. On our last day, we saw an accident between a motorbike and a taxi. The police came over and took very detail of the accident. It awe me.

Others:
You must try the massage. It is cheap and it relaxes me and my wife after a hectic day in the city. What I should recommend, when you arrive in HCMC, look for a massage parlor first to unwind your musles. Then do it daily after your hectic activity. It is really good.

People:
They are kind and warm people. Take it easy on daily life. Nothing to worry when going around here.

Overall:
It is a great place to relax and unwind. I'll be coming again, well not so soon but will definetly will return to rest.
