Welcome to Ho Chi Minh City

To open up this blog. We are going to review our trip to Ho Chi Minh City (HCMC) in Vietnam, We arrived last night from Kuala Lumpur.

HCMC airport is a modern airport. It opened one and a half years ago.It was a "hassle free" airport and within 30 minutes we are out from the airport.

First time in Vietnam, and our first impression was on the trafic chaos. I believe, motorbike and bicycles are the king of the road. They are every where. Left, right and anywhere. So as a car driver, you must take extra pre caution so that you do not hit them. And surprisingly, they have like 6 sensth where they can understand the other person's thinking.

We had to go out to get our dinner. So we braved ourself to cross the road. Knowing my wife, she will cross the road when the road is empty. Well in that case, she will not move.

But in Vietnam, it is a total different ball game. You need to cross. So to start with, we waited until we saw a local intend to cross a road. We rush near to him and cross tag with him. Phew!! Save on our first attempt. Then we lost the local people so we had to do on our own. Surprisingly, we start to move slowly from the road bank. The bikes are rushing towards us, but we brave ourself to move on bit by bit and they are a respectful motorist which will not crash on you but instead giving way or slow down their motor. GREAT!! It lift up our confidence level to proceed crossing other roads.

Great first day experience in HCMC!!
